Goethe-Zertifikat A1 (Start German 1) Exam Schedule
The official list below lists reserved time periods, not confirmed exams. Check with your instructor if the final exam for the course will be held during this time period.
Be sure to read all the Goethe exam conditions and guidelines on each exam's webpage prior to making a decision to register. Also, be sure to register with the correct exam level.
Locations
The Exam Schedule lists locations where DEP conducts operator certification exams. Check out the individual exam pages for additional guidelines, terms and conditions and exam material. If you require special accommodations due to chronic disease, visual or hearing impairment or other limitations Contact the exam provider and provide the documentation when registering.
Faculty may find their exam times via the "View My Teaching Schedule" task on the Faculty Dashboard in Workday. The Registrar's Office also has a schedule of exam times for the classes that must have an exam by NYSED regulations. For evening classes final exams are scheduled at the regular class time during the exam week.

Registration
The exam schedule is accessible on the internet, and students are advised to consult it. It is important to note that the final schedule of exams may be altered at any time. Therefore, students should consult their instructors to make sure they have the correct date and time for their exam. Students should also be certain to print the official list and bring it with them to their exam.
Students must also familiarize themselves with the guidelines and terms of the exam in addition to the exam schedule. They are available on the website for each exam. After registering, students acknowledge that they have read and agree to these conditions and terms.
Exam locations make every effort to accommodate students with special needs. The nature and severity of these requirements must be declared on the registration form and confirmed by a doctor's attestation. The exam locations must also adhere to confidentiality.
If a student is scheduled to take three examinations scheduled on the same day, it is suggested to contact their instructor or department to arrange a make-up exam. It is possible to have three exams on the same day. However, this could lead to a high level of stress and can affect the quality of the exam. Additionally, visit the following post might not be able give a makeup exam on another day.
Before taking the exam, students must prepare by studying their course material and practicing their German skills. The test is a paper-based test which measures the ability to speak, read and write in German. The examination results are reported on a scale of A1 to C2. Students who pass the test are awarded an Goethe-Zertifikat. The certificate demonstrates the attainment of the language level A1. This level corresponds to the initial stage of the six-level scale of competence that is set out in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The examination is free of charge. Students must bring a valid government-issued ID to the test. Those who do not have an acceptable photo ID will be disqualified from the examination.
Fees
You must pay an examination fee for the opportunity to receive the Goethe-Zertifikat (start German 1) after you have completed your Elan Academy studies. This is in addition to the course fee.
Practice tests allow you to get an understanding of the style of the questions, their wording, and the difficulty of the questions on the test. They allow you to assess your knowledge level, find areas of knowledge that aren't covered and increase your chances of passing the exam.

It is important to note that the exam fee is not refundable. Exam results can only be emailed and not via telephone.
